On its second day of release, the film ‘The Kerala Story’ directed by Sudipto Sen has made significant profit at the Indian box office, making a profit of 11.22 crore, bringing the total revenue close to 20 crore.

The film’s trailer was criticized for suggesting that 32,000 girls from the state were missing and had joined the terror group ISIS. The trailer of The Kerala Story was criticized and in response to the backlash, the film team removed the figure and reworded the description of the trailer to focus on the story of three women from Kerala.

Vipul Amrutlal Shah produced the movie “The Kerala Story” which was released on 5 May. The Kerala High Court rejected a request for a stay of payment upon the film’s release. The film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani in the lead roles.

The Kerala High Court has rejected the plea to halt the film’s release, stating that the film’s trailer does not offend any particular community as a whole. The court also mentioned that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reviewed the film and concluded that it is suitable for public screening.
