In a tweet, Amazon Prime Video confirmed that the biopic chronicling the origin of Nike’s Air Jordan shoe line will be ready to stream on the platform starting Friday, May 12. It can be streamed in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages in India. Air was originally set to premiere on Amazon’s streaming service, but the studio opted for a theatrical release after positive responses to test screenings. It marks Amazon Studios’ second film since 2019’s Late Night to premiere in theaters before an eventual Prime Video release.

Affleck stars in the film as Nike co-founder Phil Knight, who constantly questions Vaccaro’s options, while Viola Davis (Suicide Squad) appears as Deloris, Jordan’s mother.
Debutante Alex Convery wrote the script for the film air, which appeared on the 2021 Blacklist of the Industry’s Most Popular Texts. The script then underwent some revisions by Affleck and Damon, at the request of a real-life Jordan, who wanted some of his signature lead characters included in the film. Air also stars Jason Bateman (Ozark) as Nike Marketing Director Rob Strauss, Marlon Wayans (Requiem for a Dream) as Nike Basketball Marketing Director George Raveling, and Chris Messina (Sharp Objects) as Michael Jordan’s David Falk. This will also be the first time that Affleck will direct his longtime friend and collaborator Damon in a film.
As mentioned before, air It was released on April 5 in theaters across the United States and Canada and grossed $79 million (roughly Rs. 647 crores). In that period, it was critically acclaimed, standing at 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences seemed to love it, too, with the film having a whopping 98 percent score.
