Chelsea are ready to go to £60MILLION for Anthony Gordon, moving them closer to an agreement with Everton – and the 21-year-old winger wants to go – with Tottenham still interested in signing him too

  • Chelsea are ready to bid £60m for Everton’s 21-year-old winger Anthony Gordon
  • Thomas Tuchel’s side have seen a number of previous offers for Gordon rejected
  • Everton want more than £50m for Gordon, who is one of their prized assets
  • Gordon has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Newcastle this summer

Anthony Gordon has told Everton he wants to join Chelsea, who are prepared to pay up to £60million to land the winger.

Chelsea have had four approaches for Gordon knocked back by Everton but the Londoners are continuing to test Everton’s resolve to hang onto their academy product.

Having had a £45m plus £5m add-ons proposal rebuffed, Chelsea are now willing to offer a guaranteed £50m with a further £10m in add-ons for the 21 year-old.

Chelsea’s latest approach is one that is understood to have brought the two clubs closer together on their valuations of Gordon and left the Stamford Bridge club increasingly hopeful of landing their man before next Thursday’s transfer deadline.

That sense has been further strengthened by Gordon’s desire to join Chelsea, which he has informed Everton manager Frank Lampard and the club of, if a deal between the clubs can be agreed.

A move to Chelsea will hand Gordon the chance to play Champions League football and boost his England senior prospects, having worn the Three Lions from under-18 up to under-21 level.

Everton wanted a fee in excess of £50m for Gordon who has also been the subject of interest from Tottenham and Newcastle earlier in the window.

Spurs, who have already signed Richarlison from the Goodison Park club, remain interested and are continuing to monitor developments with Gordon.
