Glenn Close will not attend the Oscars tonight, cites positive COVID-19 test

Entertainment

The Oscars will be less glamorous tonight, as actress Glenn Close will not be attending after testing positive for Covid-19.

Her spokesperson confirmed her illness. Close was expected to present awards alongside names like Nicole Kidman, Antonio Banderas, Ariana DeBose, and Harrison Ford, among others.

The media was required to test negative by the event’s producers, but did not need proof of vaccination. Those seated inside the Dolby Theater also had to audition.

ABC will broadcast the 95th Annual Academy Awards beginning at 5pm PT / 8pm ET.
