2017 –

Which continued later, and more than decades later, the character was later portrayed in the movie when Amber Heard was cast as one of the main characters, highlighting her beauty, which was well accentuated by her famous red hair in the 2017 movie Justice League.

2018 –

With the massive success of her role in Aquaman 2017, she reprized the role of Mera in Aquaman 2018 as well.

Heard also appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021 and was set to appear in Aquaman 2 as well.

Heard’s agent, Jessica Kovacevic, has claimed that the actress’ role as Mera in Aquaman 2 has almost been replaced by another actor. Kovačević responded at the time to rumors that Warner Bros. wanted to replace Heard.

According to Kovacevic, Heard’s almost recast was due to her “lack of chemistry” with Aquaman co-star Jason Momoa, reports The Independent.
