Jill duggar undergoes gallbladder surgery amid postpartum healing
Jill Duggar shares a scary postpartum experience!
The reality TV star, who welcomed her third son with husband Derick Dillard, recently opened up about the health troubles that followed her child’s birth. Over the weekend, the Arkansas native revealed to her followers on Instagram that she had undergone an unexpected surgical procedure.
On Saturday, August 20, Duggar broke the news about her gallbladder surgery with a cozy picture of herself relaxing at home. The image featured the entertainer’s legs propped up on the furniture and covered in gray sweatpants. The 31-year-old added an extra layer of protection by adorning her feet with wool socks.
A blanket with blue, gray, and brown hues covered the mother-of-three’s lap while her hands held a water bottle and a plastic cup containing half-eaten applesauce. The “19 Kids and Counting” star explained the context of this picture in the post’s caption, penning a lengthy message about her recent surgery.
Duggar shared that she nearly marked six weeks of incident-free postpartum wellness checkups. However, the TV personality experienced a “horrible bout of pain” before her routine examination. Upon seeking medical advice for her physical discomfort, the TLC alum discovered she needed surgery as the pain emanated from her gallbladder.
The Arkansas native confessed that she did not like starting her healing journey from scratch. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old looked at her situation from a positive perspective. Duggar wrote:
“I am so thankful for good medical care and so many other little blessings along the way…help from family and friends [plus] the relief now and thought of hopefully never having to deal with another bad gallbladder attack again!!”
In case others might be suffering from similar health issues, the “14 Children and Pregnant Again ” star shared information about her symptoms and warning signs of a gallbladder attack. The reality TV star added a disclaimer to avoid slander, noting that she was not giving medical advice. Instead, the entertainer warned women dealing with “gas, bloating, and nausea” not to dismiss these symptoms as “gut issues.”
According to the mother-of-three, her surgeon stated that the listed warning signs represented a brewing storm. This implied that people should get checked out and not wait until their conditions worsen. The “Growing Up Duggar” co-author also highlighted her knowledge of gallbladder issues and shared tips to avoid the health problem.
“Women are 2-4x more likely than men to have gallbladder problems,” she wrote, “some risk factors for gallbladder probs include: pregnancy, rapid weight gain/loss, hormone fluctuations/therapy, people with food allergies/sensitivities, family history of gallbladder probs, etc.”
The media personality stated that eating healthy fats daily would prevent the development of gallstones. However, those with the problem should avoid trigger foods like “fried, fatty, sugary, carbonated, and acidic” meals. Reducing alcoholic and caffeinated drinks can also prevent a gallbladder attack. In her concluding paragraphs, the 31-year-old reasserted that she penned this message for fans’ sake.
Duggar stated that she hoped the post would help people recognize a gallbladder problem before experiencing her excruciating pain. The TLC star ended her caption by asking those who have undergone gallbladder surgery to share their recovery tips in the comment section.
Last month, The Blast reported that being a mother of three wonderful boys looked great on Duggar. The Arkansas native enjoyed spending time with her kids, especially her newborn son. On July 7, the TV personality and her husband welcomed their third bundle of joy, Frederick “Freddy” Michael. Following his birth, the 31-year-old updated fans about her adorable boy.
In an Instagram post, the entertainer uploaded two heartwarming family pictures. The first slide featured an image of the TLC star posing with Freddy. The precious baby was captured sleeping peacefully in the harness strapped to his mother’s chest. Although Duggar rocked a messy bun, the doting mother radiated joy as she smiled brightly at the camera.
In the second slide, the “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” alum’s two sons played with their younger brother in his crib. The Arkansas native noted in the post’s caption that the entire family enjoyed “soaking up” Freddy’s snuggles and love.
