Amazon Prime Video released the first full trailer for Judy Blume foreverthe upcoming streaming documentary that charts the story of one of publishing’s most timely and timeless authors.

Directed by Davina Bardot and Leah Wolchuk, the film chronicles the author’s decades-long journey to becoming one of the most beloved and underrated writers. Beginning with her childhood roots as a “creepy, imaginative child,” the 90-plus-minute documentary explores how familial inspiration and growing radical honesty defined a woman who helped generations struggle with her maturation, including experiences about puberty, sexuality, and identity.

“My daughter said, ‘Mom, can’t you write a book about teenagers who fall in love and do it and nobody has to die?'” Bloom recalled at the start of the two-minute trailer. “And I thought: yeah!”

Through a collection of archival footage and various locations with Bloom—some of which see long-running correspondence with fans— Judy Blume forever The trailer evokes the humor and sensibility characteristic of one of America’s most popular publishing houses. Meanwhile, additional interviews with Molly Ringwald, Lena Dunham, Anna Kunkel, Samantha Bee, and other famous women–and men–inspired help discover how Bloom became a cultural flashpoint and safe space for young teens.

“I don’t think Judy Blum wrote her books to be immortal,” Jason Reynolds says in the trailer about the author’s profound impact on readers. “I think she wrote her books to be timely, and they are so timely that they are timeless.”
