Motorola Razr 40 Ultra price, designs and specs leaked ahead of launch: Report

Technology

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra design images have leaked online, less than a month before the company is due to launch its next foldable smartphone series. The phone tends to have two external cameras surrounded by a larger external screen than current clamshell-style foldable phones from companies like Samsung and Oppo. Before the phone was launched, its pricing also surfaced online, along with its specifications. The company recently published a video teasing the silhouettes of two foldable phones, which are expected to debut as Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and Razr 2023.

An Indian report by 91Mobiles quoting schoolboy Sudhanshu Ambhore (Twitter: @Sudhanshu1414) claims that Motorola Razr 40 Ultra will be priced at $1,000 (roughly Rs. 82,600). For comparison, the Oppo Find N2 Flip was launched in the global markets at £849 (roughly Rs. 87,300), while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 was priced at $999 (roughly Rs. 82,400) when it was launched in August 2023.

Meanwhile, renders of the alleged Motorola Razr 40 Ultra design have also been leaked, which show the phone in Black, Blue, and Red color options. The outer screen is seen through a dual camera setup while the inner screen has a camera housed in a punch-hole style cutout. The phone appears with a USB Type C port at the bottom next to the speaker grille, and the power and volume buttons are on the right spine of the phone.

The report also lists the specifications of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, and the phone is said to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It can have 6.7-inch full-HD+ pOLED and 3.4-inch OLED screens for the indoor and outdoor displays, respectively.

For photography and videography, the phone tipped to sport a dual rear camera setup with a 32MP primary camera paired with an 8MP wide-angle camera. The inner display could be equipped with a 12MP selfie camera, housed in a punch-hole cutout. The phone is expected to have a 3,500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, according to the report.
