OnePlus foldable smartphone launch schedule leaked; Upside Down debuted in August

OnePlus is all set to unveil its first foldable smartphone later this year. The company announced, at MWC 2023, that the phone will be launched in the third quarter of 2023, and now a new leak indicates the same thing. However, the exact launch date has not been confirmed by the company. The phone is likely to compete with Samsung, Oppo, and Motorola in the foldable space. While they have already launched their foldable smartphones in the market, OnePlus has yet to do so.

It also showed glimpses of its upcoming foldable smartphone at the Cloud 11 event, and with That being said, there are no other details shared by the company yet.

Some leaks and previous reports regarding the expected specifications have been doing the rounds on the internet for a while now. According to a report, OnePlus’ first foldable phone could have a 2K display, similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Earlier this year, it was also reported that the phones were getting branding like OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip monikers. This indicates that the company may launch two foldable phones consisting of a foldable (horizontal) smartphone and a clamshell foldable smartphone. OnePlus has not yet announced any specifications for its foldable phone.

Meanwhile, OnePlus is also said to be working on a new OnePlus Nord N30. The Nord N20 successor has been spotted in the Google Play Console listing, suggesting that the alleged Nord N30 could be a rebranded OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G in the US. The phone is supposed to sport a Full HD+ display and is equipped with 8GB of RAM and Snapdragon 695 SoC.

On Thursday, Google removed the covers from its foldable Pixel Fold. In a short teaser video posted to Twitter, Google has officially revealed the Pixel Fold’s design, hinge mechanism, and internal display. The device is expected to be launched at the upcoming Google I/O event on May 10.
