Petrol and diesel prices May 22: Check the latest rates in Delhi, Mumbai, other cities
Gasoline and diesel prices remained unchanged in major Indian cities on Monday, the latest data from the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) showed.
Petrol prices in the national capital Delhi rose €Monday 96.72 per litre. The diesel price was €89.62 per liter in the city.
Gasoline prices in major cities on Monday were– Mumbai ( €106.31/litre), Bengaluru ( €101.94/litre), Jaipur ( €108.78/litre), Kolkata ( €106.03/litre), Chennai ( €102.63/litre), and Noida ( €96.59/litre).
On the other hand, diesel rates in major cities were on May 22
mumbai ( €94.27/litre), Bengaluru ( €87.89/litre), Jaipur ( €93.99/litre), Kolkata ( €92.76/litre), Chennai ( €94.24/litre), and Noida ( €89.76/liter).
The oil companies like Bharat Petroleum and Indian Oil Corporation review fuel prices daily. Prices are determined in accordance with the price of crude oil around the world.
The last fuel price changes nationwide took place on May 21, 2022, when the central government cut the excise tax on petrol by €8 per liter and €6 per liter on diesel. Since then, some state governments have also reduced VAT on petrol and diesel, while others have imposed an additional tax.
