Taylor Swift’s Iras Tour in Philly Will Be Attended by Ronan’s Mum Maia Thompson: Everything You Need to Know

Entertainment

Ronan Taylor Swift’s song is without a doubt one of the saddest songs she has ever written and sung.

The track, which was first released as a single during Taylor’s red reign, is inspired by a young boy named Ronan, who passed away just days before his fourth birthday in 2011, after battling cancer.

The song was written from the perspective of a grieving mother who lost her young son to cancer. The song’s chorus says, “Come on, baby, with me / We’ll fly away from here / You were my best four years.”

And now, Ronan’s mother, Maya Thompson, will be attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Philly on May 12, which also happens to be the birthday of Ronan, who would have turned sixteen this year. Read on to find out more.

The song Ronan found a home on Taylor’s re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version) which was released in 2021. Maya Thompson is credited as a writer on the song as Taylor was directly inspired by her blog Rockstar Ronan to write the song.

Ahead of the song’s 2021 re-release, Thompson wrote as a letter to her son, “You anchored Taylor in this world to never be lost, and now I’ve made sure you’ll be forever safe in a new and permanent home.”

Maya Thompson will also be sharing in a trend that’s now spreading among Swifties, where Taylor fans pass out friendship bracelets to fellow fans. Thompson shared a photo on Twitter showing off a purple hand-beaded bracelet with Ronan’s name on it. “See you in 4 days, Philadelphia,” she wrote in the caption.

Taylor Swift will be attending the Eras Tour to Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, and will perform for three consecutive nights from May 12th to May 14th, 2023.
