Vivica a fox slams nick cannon after baby announcement
Nick Cannon, who is set to become a father to 10 children in the next few months, has been criticized by actress Vivica A. Fox for having so many children.
Fox, 58, said Cannon was not a “good representation” of a father figure in “Black family building.” Cannon, 41, has eight children, a ninth and a tenth appear to be on the way from two different mothers.
The TV host, who often pokes fun at himself for having many children, connected with Elon Musk in July because of their large families.
Later that same month, model Bre Tiesi gave birth to Cannon’s eighth child. Former Miss Universe contestant Brittany Bell is pregnant with her ninth child and DJ Abby De La Rosa is reportedly expecting her tenth child.
“I do not like it”, kill Bill actress Fox said while discussing Cannon on the talk show Cocktails with queens.
“You can all say, ‘Well, he’s got money,’ and that and that, but black family building, especially a strong father figure, is required. This is not a good representation of that opinion in my opinion.”
The host, actress Claudia Jordan, agreed with Fox, describing Cannon as a great guy but wondering if he could really be there for all of his kids.
“He’s there to take pictures and it’s cute, and ‘Oh my god I’m at the birthday party,’” Fox added.
“Children deserve a father figure, especially boys. They need positive father figures, especially African Americans because they’re black and only write one check. I’ve seen so many people date like athletes and get child support in the past. What if he gets hurt? Things happen.”
Cannon is the father of twins born in 2011 to his ex-wife Mariah Carey, two other children with Bell, born in 2017 and 2020, and another set of twins with De La Rosa, born in 2021. He had a son with model Alyssa Scott in June 2021, however her baby Zen Cannon died of brain cancer at the age of five months.
Tiesi gave birth to Cannon’s eighth child after a “natural, non-drug, home birth.” She shared the news on Instagram on July 25.
Cannon recently attended a pregnancy photoshoot with Bell and her two older children and posted footage to his Instagram page.
De La Rosa is also pregnant and although Cannon has not confirmed the news, he is believed to be the father.
