VLC App for iPhone Gets Support for Apple CarPlay, New Audio Playback UI In Latest Update: All the Details
VLC, the popular open source cross-platform multimedia player, has just rolled out an update to its iPhone app, introducing several new features including a redesigned user interface, along with support for Apple CarPlay. With the latest update, the app can now be accessed via Apple’s CarPlay platform as well. It will allow users to easily access audio files without using iPhone while driving. The latest update is available for download via the App Store at no additional cost. It has also added more options for sorting the media library.
According to details available in the App Store, the new version 3.4.0 of VLC brings support for Apple CarPlay, which will allow users to access their audio library, stream content, and create and manage playlists, among other tasks. In addition to that, it has also introduced a new UI for audio playback, artist views, albums, and loops to the media library, bookmarks support, and more.
It has also improved the display of library content and the random play algorithm. The latest update to the app also indicates which media is currently playing in the library and adds more options for sorting the media library. Moreover, the latest update to VLC adds support for Handoff, allowing users to switch between iPhones, iPads, and Macs and continue using the app.
