It’s official! Oscar-winning actress, director and activist Angelina Jolie has introduced a new clothing line called Atelier Jolie. The 45-year-old announced the launch of her brand on social media on Wednesday. She has garnered praise from fans and well-wishers for her new venture, which will focus on ethical and sustainable fashion. This is one of her many projects outside of the film industry.

What is Atelier Jolie?
The foundation of Atelier Jolie will be a website that helps artisans and designers who will make use of old and dead fabrics to create one-of-a-kind items.
The brand will allow customers to collaborate with designers, international style labels and artisans from around the world to create apparel.
The former United Nations Goodwill Ambassador has long been an advocate of sustainable fashion. Therefore, her new brand will be dedicated to these same values of using sustainable materials and fair labor practices in the manufacture of her apparel.
Jolie revealed more information about her brand on her Instagram. She wrote, “I’m starting something new today—a collection where everyone can create… Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert seamstresses, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world. It stems from my deep appreciation and respect for the many tailors and makers with whom I have worked.” With them over the years, the desire to take advantage of the old, high-quality materials and raw materials already available, and also to be part of the movement to cultivate more self-expression.”

When will Atelier Jolie be open to the general public?
And the actress mentioned on Instagram that the project won’t start until fall 2023. Although it looks like more information about this project might be revealed before then, as she promised to provide “more soon” on Instagram.
Why did Angelina launch a clothing brand?
Jolie announces that Atelier Jolie will provide opportunities for refugees and other under-appreciated talent groups. Jolie is actively involved in refugee work through the United Nations Refugee Agency. The Hollywood star is also no stranger to the modeling industry. She’s worked with every other designer under the sun at this point and she’s been a red carpet staple for decades.
