Why is Drew Barrymore roasted online for kneeling in front of Tik Tok star Dylan Mulvaney?
Drew Barrymore is being roasted on Twitter for kneeling in front of “man” Dylan Mulvaney.
Transgender TikTok star and activist Dylan Mulvaney recently appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show to celebrate the year of her daily video series on the platform, titled Days of Girlhood. For starters, Mulvaney came out as a trans woman during the Covid-19 pandemic and since March 2022, she’s been sharing her transition videos on TikTok.
During their conversation, Drew Barrymore and Dylan Mulvaney were discussing hate when the latter said she couldn’t imagine anyone in the world hating the actress. “Oh, please,” the Charlie’s Angels star replied, kneeling in front of Mulvaney, “Do you want, ironically, to know who hates me the most sometimes? Myself.”
Mulvaney also knelt down as they shared a hug and continued to sit the rest of the segment on the floor.

While some viewers found Drew’s gesture sympathetic, others found it “disturbing” because they did not approve of Drew’s female kneeling in front of a biological male Dylan making fun of women. Viewers quickly took to Twitter to express their thoughts and opinions on the matter.
“Women are now on their hands and knees to show their solidarity with a man who lived as a woman less than a year ago. Truly the most underhand hoax the patriarchy has ever pulled,” Greg Price, communications director for the Government Freedom Caucus Network, tweeted.
YouTuber Oli London also took to the microblogging site and wrote, “Why does Drew Barrymore hate women? By kneeling and bowing to a man who makes fun of women — Drew slaps every woman in the face. That’s an insult. #dylanmulvaney.”
Former BLM activist Xaviaer DuRousseau tweeted, “Did Drew Barrymore not realize she’s literally on her hands and knees for a man? Patriarchy wins again…”
